Lord Jesus Christ, Father of mercies and God of all consolation: grant we beseech Thee; that we who venerate Thy most pure Mother Mary, here on earth under the title of "Consolation," may enjoy her eternal consort in heaven.

Epistle: Isaias xi: 1-5

There shall come forth a rod our of the root of Jesse, and a flower shall rise up out of his root. And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him: the spirit of wisdom and of under­standing, the spirit of counsel and of fortitude, the spirit of knowledge and of godliness, and He shall be filled with the spirit of the fear of the Lord. He shall not judge according to the sight of the eyes, nor reprove according to the hearing of the ears. But He shall judge the poor with justice, and shall reprove with equity for the meek of the earth. And He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. And justice shall be the girdle of His loins, and faith the girdle of His reins.

Recordáre, Virgo Mater Dei, dum stéteris in conspectu Dómini, ut loquáris pro nobis bona, et ut avértat indignatiónem suam a nobis.

Remember, Virgin Mother, in the sight of God, speak on our behalf, that His indignation may be turned away from us.

Receive, O Lord this gift that we offer in commemoration of the most pure Virgin Mary, who consoles us in all of our tribulations: and grant; that our minds being illuminated by the supernatural light of the Holy Ghost, we may despise the things of earth, and always aspire to those of heaven.

O font of life, Lord Jesus, fill our minds with rivers of delights in Thee: that under the protection of the blessed ever Virgin Mary, Mother of Consolation, we may merit to ever be refreshed with the joys of heaven.
