Oratio II: Contra persecutores Ecclesiæ

Ecclésiæ tuæ, quaesumus, Dómine, preces placatus admítte: ut, destrúctis adversitatibus et erróribus univérsis, secúra tibi sérviat libertate.

Graciously accept the prayers of Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, that, overcoming all hostility and error, She may serve Thee in safety and freedom.

vel Oratio II: Pro Papa

Deus, ómnium fidélium pastor et rector, famulum tuum N., quem pastórem Ecclésiæ tuæ præésse voluísti, propítius réspice: da ei, quaesumus, verbo et exemplo quibus præest profícere; ut ad vitam, una cum grege sibi crédito, pervéniat sempitérnam.

O God, the Shepherd and Ruler of all the faithful, look favorably upon Thy servant N., whom Thou hast been pleased to appoint as shepherd over Thy Church, grant we beseech Thee, that by word and example, he may edify those over whom he is placed, and together with the flock entrusted to his care, may attain everlasting life.

Secreta II: Contra persecutores Ecclesiæ

Prótege nos, Dómine, tuis mystériis serviéntes: ut divínis rebus inhæréntes, et córpore tibi famulémur, et mente.

Protect us, we beseech Thee, O Lord, who assist at Thy mysteries, that holding fast to things divine, we may serve Thee both in body and soul.

vel Secreta II: Pro Papa

Oblatis, quaesumus, Dómine, placare munéribus: et famulum tuum N., quem pastorem Ecclésiæ tuæ præésse voluísti, assídua protectióne gubérna.

Be appeased, we beseech Thee, O Lord, by our peace-offerings, and by Thy constant protection, guide Thy servant N., whom Thou hast been pleased to appoint as shepherd over Thy Church.

Postcommunio II: Contra persecutores Ecclesiæ

Quaesumus, Dómine Deus noster: ut, quos divína tribuis participatióne gaudére; humanis non sinas subjacére perículis.

We beseech Thee, O Lord our God, that Thou wouldst not allow to be exposed to human perils, those whom Thou hast been pleased to make sharers of these divine mysteries.

vel Postcommunio III: Pro Papa

Hæc nos quaesumus, Dómine, divini sacraménti percéptio prótegat: et famulum tuum N., quem pastórem Ecclésiæ tuæ præésse voluísti; una cum commísso sibi grege, salvet semper, et múniat.

We beseech Thee, O Lord, that the reception of this divine sacrament, may protect us and always save and defend Thy servant N., whom Thou hast been pleased to appoint as shepherd over Thy Church, together with the flock entrusted to him.
